Help Identify And Recognize Members of Congress Who Look Out For The Industry

They work to protect our businesses, express a strong interest in learning about our industry and foster an environment in which our industry can continue to thrive. They are members of Congress who have listened to your concerns and helped make a difference. If you’ve worked with a member of Congress who champions the causes of the industry, nominate him or her today for the inaugural PPAI Legislator of the Year Award.

All nominations are due no later than Friday, February 3 at 5 pm. Nominations will be reviewed by an impartial team of industry professionals.

PPAI will announce the winner on Monday, February 13 and invite him or her to join advocates at the PPAI Legislative Education and Action Day (L.E.A.D) in Washington, D.C. on March 7.

Help recognize and thank a member of Congress who has supported the promotional products industry in 2011––submit your nomination for the PPAI Legislator of the Year.

A Day At The PSI Show

 It’s hard, after 33 years as a promotional products guy, to get excited again but walking the halls of the PSI Show in Dusseldorf today was a great energizer. Paul Bellantone, president of our U.S. trade association, PPAI; Steven Meyer, PPAI chairman and David Natinsky, president of SAGE, the online search and presentation tool for our trade, walked the floor with me. The merchandising, displays and professional, smartly dressed and prepared people impressed me and also fired me up. The show attracts some 20,000 people from more than 50 countries and the selection, marketing and vendors all combined to make me feel more proud of our profession.

What I need to synthesize out of this now, is how to share the experience with our MadeToOrder team and with our clients. I would love to bring our clients to the show, but that is for another post. For now, I am excited to work another day (and night) making new connections, new friends and new professional relationships.

Happy New Year and a Small Favor…

Happy New Year!

It was a pleasure seeing and visiting with many of you at The PPAI Expo last week in Las Vegas. I hope you had a productive and enjoyable Expo experience.

As I’m sure you’re aware, the PPAI Research department conducts a Quarterly Sales Barometer which monitors the on-going trends in promotional products sales for the supplier and distributor communities.  This barometer serves as an important resource for timely, industry-wide sales information.

We launched the 2011 Q4 barometer on January 1 after the end of the fourth quarter of 2011. Invitations to participate went to supplier and supplier and distributor inboxes that morning.

In order to ensure a strong response, which will generate a more accurate portrait of the industry, I’m asking you to help me spread the word. I’ve posted the link to the barometer below. Please forward it to your industry contacts and ask each of them to join you in participating.

Providing useable, statistical information to our industry is a top priority for PPAI. I thank you in advance for helping the Association continue its commitment to relevant, reliable research.  I will post the results of the Q4 Quarterly Sales Barometer to this blog prior to releasing them to the membership and media.
